Challenged

This black-clad wrestler has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged me to get my boots on and face him on the mat. Clearly, he reckons that I'm gonna get a damn good scissoring from his Adidas Box Champ Speeds. With boots as good as those, and that mean-looking mask, I may well have to accept the challenge!

Adidas XOB-05

These are the 5th and, so far, last of the XOB series by Adidas, a range of funky upgrades to their Tygun boxing boots, which became a fashion hit too. I couldn't resist a video of me posing in my pair!


The soles of these boots are particularly noteworthy, so here's an additional photo:



Only trouble is, the only way you'll get to show these soles off in the boxing ring is to get knocked out!

Nike Competition Boxing Boots

What do you think of these? I stumbled across this design forum thread and was delighted to see what appear to be a new Nike boxing boot. More details on that thread but I would love to lace up a pair of these! Reckon they'd be good for wrestling purposes too.

There's something fascinating for me about seeing two fighters in the same gear, especially when they are both laced in identical - and awesome - Adidas boxing boots. I almost wonder whether they're fighting over who will have the right to wear them exclusively....

Reebok Boxing Boots

These white, red and blue boxing boots have got to be the hottest shoe Reebok ever made. I've never seen a single shop, online or otherwise, that sells them and I'd wrestle an angry gorilla for a pair. They're almost enough to distract my attention away from the Adidas Box Champ Speeds being worn by the other boxer.

A fine image of a striking pair of plimsolls, this. Well lit, nicely posed, and with the plimsolls showing just the right amount of wear to making them interesting rather than just plain filthy!

This week, I tried on a pair just like this. Unfortunately I couldn't get the right size. Pity!

Vintage Converse Wrestlers

First, a big thank you to my friend Jim who, knowing how awesome I think these wrestling shoes of his are, has kindly allowed me to post some images.

I so want a pair of these wrestling shoes laced on my feet that it hurts. They are so very similar to my Bata Bullets wrestling shoes, of a similar vintage, but how awesome would it be to hit the mat in Converse wrestling shoes!

Big Black Boxing Boots Vibe

These awsome black Adidas Box Champ Speeds have long been favourites of mine - the wear on the toes is from a number of wrestling matches - but I'm really feelin these boots right now.

Anyone else out there in Bootsland getting the vibe too?

Wrestling Direct - ASICS publicity image

Those good people at www.wrestlingdirect.com sent me another of their excellent sales emails recently, with this striking image of a pair of yellow ASICS Dan Gable Ultimates. You can really see the detailing of the shoe so well.

Needless to say, I now want a pair BAD! ;-)

Adidas Boxing Boots in action

Here's what boxing boots were made for. COMBAT!

I love this pic: you can see that the Black Adidas Box Champ Speeds (left) are on the attack. They're launching their wearer forward into (I imagine) a sequence on punches. They've been laced to perfection too - leaving a few laceholes unused means lots of loops of white laces round the top of the boot. I think this gives them real style and attitude.

The Adidas Tyguns (right) are clearly on the defensive. Those boots would look much better without the tights spoiling their lines. Has he got tape round them?

Vintage Boots Drool Moment

Why don't Adidas make these any more??!?!!? I'd wrestle a herd of buffalo to get to lace up in either (or both!) of these!
